During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Court and the Youth Justice Court have been hearing urgent and essential matters, primarily by telephone and video. That includes in-custody bail hearings, peace bond applications and hearings, and some sentencing and youth criminal sentence reviews. Coverdale continues to attend court hearings via teleconferencing and can assist clients in navigating these new processes. We are actively involved in bail hearings, assisting accused persons in creating comprehensive release plans.

Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility

Currently, the jail is closed to visitors and outside organizations. We are monitoring the situation closely and will reactivate in-reach services as soon as the restrictions are lifted.
